Many organisations have good systems to focus on and track KPIs - but not the actions to actually improve them.

Alignment is a process to focus the entire organisation each day on the KPIs and priorities that matter most.

The starting point is typically a fiscal year Business Plan.  Alignment embeds the disciplines across the organisation to set Monthly Priorities to deliver the plan:

  • Cascading accountabilities - everyone from the CEO to operating crews has Monthly Priorities to complete.
  • Simple tools - business units use a 1-page template to set up their Monthly Priorities including a Top 3.
  • Formalising existing meetings - making them more effective rather than creating any new ones.
  • Bottom-up ownership - business units draft Monthly Priorities, Managers refine them, and the General Manager/CEO approves them.
